About The Role The Staff Data Engineer is a senior technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms within the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). This position plays a critical part in defining architectural standards, driving platform modernization initiatives, and mentoring engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and cost-efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, deeply technical, and capable of balancing strategic planning with practical execution. They will work closely with product teams, data analysts, and other stakeholders to develop semantic layers, foundational data domains, and downstream analytics products that support business insights and decision-making. Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend data engineering or analytics platform engineering
Strong hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, with a preference for BigQuery
Advanced SQL expertise and proficiency in Python programming
Proven experience designing enterprise-grade data models, including curated and ADS datasets
Experience supporting semantic layers (AtScale preferred but not required)
Knowledge of universal or shared semantic modeling across multiple domains or products
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and orchestration frameworks such as Jenkins and Airflow
Understanding of performance tuning and cost optimization in large data environments
Experience designing systems for high availability, resilience, and scalability
Ability to influence architectural decisions across teams without direct authority
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field

Develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable data pipelines and software solutions aligned with organizational goals
Design and implement enterprise data models and semantic layers to facilitate accurate and efficient analytics
Drive platform modernization efforts, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices

Participate in cross-functional discussions to influence architectural decisions and promote best practices
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex backend data engineering issues
