About The Role As a Senior QA Engineer at Blackthorn, you will be an integral part of a high-performing quality assurance team responsible for ensuring the delivery of robust, reliable, and high-quality software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and customer success teams, to understand complex business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and automation scripts. Your expertise will be vital in designing and executing manual and automated testing strategies, including performance testing and system optimization. The role requires a proactive approach to mentoring junior QA team members, advocating for quality standards, and continuously improving testing frameworks and processes. You will also be involved in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring rapid feedback and seamless deployment workflows. 5+ years of professional experience in software testing, with a proven track record in test automation
3+ years of testing experience on the Salesforce platform, with a strong understanding of its limitations and capabilities
Extensive experience with test automation frameworks, particularly Playwright
Proficiency in programming languages relevant to test automation (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Cumulus CI, and MetaDeploy
Strong background in performance testing using industry-standard tools
Experience testing mobile applications using emulators, simulators, or cloud device farms with automation frameworks
Expertise in managing test data lifecycles and maintaining synchronized test environments through version control systems
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and time zones
Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in fast-paced remote work environments
Bonus: Salesforce administrator certification or experience with Blackthorn products
Responsibilities
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases aligned with product requirements
Review technical documents, including tickets, bug reports, and feature specifications, to participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests using frameworks like Playwright
Develop and optimize automated testing frameworks that integrate seamlessly with development workflows, focusing on regression testing, API testing, and critical user flows
Estimate testing efforts, prioritize testing activities, and coordinate testing schedules to ensure timely delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and QA members, to ensure quality standards are met
Mentor junior QA team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Design and implement test data strategies, including creating large datasets for performance testing and managing test environment versions
Execute performance testing to identify system bottlenecks, load limits, and optimization opportunities, utilizing appropriate tools
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid feedback loops and deployment gates
Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing processes, results, and improvements for ongoing quality assurance
