About The Role
The SaaS Product Designer (Visual Design & Frontend Craft) role at Files.com is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled designer who combines creativity with technical expertise. This remote position, based in the USA or Canada, involves designing and building features that directly impact the daily workflows of hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. Unlike traditional design roles, this position requires hands-on frontend implementation, with the candidate expected to develop and ship their designs using React, JSX, and advanced CSS. The ideal candidate will possess a refined visual sensibility, a strong understanding of design systems, and the ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive, scalable interfaces. You will collaborate closely with product managers and engineers, taking ownership of the full design lifecycle—from initial concept to production-ready code—ensuring that every interaction enhances user experience and aligns with the company's high standards for aesthetics and functionality.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing visual design and frontend implementation
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Hands-on experience coding in React, JSX, and CSS
  • Deep understanding of UI/UX principles, interaction design, and usability testing
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI patterns
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality, polished work
  • Ability to iterate quickly based on feedback and real-world testing
  • Experience working in SaaS or enterprise software environments is preferred
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ownership

Responsibilities
  • Design elegant, intuitive user flows that simplify complex workflows and enhance user engagement
  • Translate user personas and use cases into seamless product experiences
  • Develop prototypes and wireframes for new features and improvements, conducting usability tests to validate concepts
  • Create and maintain reusable UI components, menus, tabs, tables, and widgets that adhere to design standards
  • Implement frontend code in React, JSX, and advanced CSS, ensuring designs are production-ready and scalable
  • Document and update design systems and component libraries within Storybook.js for consistency across teams
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to iterate on designs based on real-world feedback and testing
  • Ensure all visual elements align with the company's aesthetic standards and contribute to a cohesive user experience
  • Participate in code reviews and design critiques to uphold quality and best practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and workflows
