About The Role As a Staff Data Analyst at Upstart, you will play a pivotal role within the Servicing Analytics team, partnering closely with Operations, Product, and Leadership teams to enhance borrower outcomes and operational efficiency across the servicing lifecycle. Your expertise will be instrumental in translating complex data into actionable insights, shaping servicing strategies, and developing scalable reporting solutions. You will serve as a strategic analytics partner, independently identifying opportunities for improvement, diagnosing trends, and influencing key decision-making processes. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of business operations, and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. You will lead analytical initiatives, support product experiments, and deliver clear, compelling narratives to senior stakeholders, ultimately driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or related functions supporting business operations or product teams
Advanced proficiency in SQL, including building complex queries and transforming large datasets
Experience designing and maintaining dashboards and automated reports using BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms
Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, define performance metrics, and deliver data-driven recommendations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into business insights
Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
Partner with Operations, Product Management, and leadership teams to define success metrics, evaluate operational performance, and influence servicing strategies through data insights
Develop and maintain scalable dashboards, reporting frameworks, and business review materials that support self-service analytics for Operations teams
Perform root cause analyses to diagnose changes in borrower and operational performance metrics and recommend actionable solutions
Lead analytical support for product experiments and operational initiatives, including measurement design, performance evaluation, and strategic recommendations
Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and borrower outcomes by analyzing servicing workflows, agent performance, and payment behaviors
Translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives and present insights effectively to senior stakeholders and leadership audiences
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, automate reporting workflows, and implement AI-enabled tools for operational improvements
