About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Data Business Analyst to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the critical link between insurance operations, data engineering, product development, and analytics teams. Your primary responsibility will be to enable high-quality, scalable insurance data capabilities across our platform by translating complex insurance data into normalized, reliable structures suitable for analytics, AI, and underwriting workflows. You will evaluate new insurance-specific data sources, onboard them into our systems, and ensure data integrity and quality throughout transformation processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to diagnose issues, improve validation frameworks, and ensure the platform's data models support evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of insurance data, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Commercial P&C Insurance industry, with a focus on underwriting processes
Experience working with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data platforms
Proven ability to analyze large, semi-structured, or structured datasets
Strong technical business analysis skills, with experience eliciting and translating complex business requirements into technical specifications
Exceptional communication and documentation skills
Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks
Proficiency in Excel for data mapping and tracking, along with familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Monday.com
Start-up or growth-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary interface between customer business needs and Convr’s technical teams, translating requirements into clear specifications
Assess and ensure the quality, coverage, and relevance of new insurance data sources
Analyze and map insurance data from various sources into a canonical schema to support analytics and AI initiatives
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to evolve schema designs aligned with emerging use cases and customer pain points
Partner with engineering to configure and activate the Convr Underwriting Workbench based on client-specific needs
Validate the implementation of underwriting rules, workflows, and AI-driven decisioning within the platform
Support AI/ML, analytics, and reporting projects by ensuring data completeness and accuracy
Create comprehensive documentation, diagrams, and artifacts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Identify data anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies, and work with teams to resolve them at scale
Diagnose root causes of data issues, improve validation frameworks, and ensure ongoing data integrity
