Summary:
Based in Encinitas, CA, five minutes from Moonlight Beach, this role will report to the Director, Strategic Sourcing. The Associate Procurement Manager is responsible for initiating, quantifying, comparing Request for Proposals (RFPs) with our suppliers, from components to 3PMs. You’ll help us negotiate pricing, identify the right partners to support our growing business, achieve cost savings goals and hold our suppliers accountable to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Associate Procurement Manager will collect data on vendor KPIs for our Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program at Sun Bum. You’ll work with our Supply Chain and Product Development teams on New Development product pricing and continuous improvement projects. This role requires extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties:
Pricing and Cost Savings Management
- Solicit, analyze, and compare bids through a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) while making recommendations to Senior Sourcing Manager.
- Monitor, negotiate, investigate, and report out supplier price changes on a quarterly basis along with impact to delivered margins.
- Lead and present cost savings initiatives to internal stakeholders
- Run cost, spend, and market analytics for portfolio strategy for raw materials, components and projects.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to resolve any invoicing discrepancies or payment issues.
Supplier Resiliency and Strategy
- Identify and manage of capable suppliers critical to Sun Bum supply chain resiliency plans.
- Responsible for coordination and identifying supplier capability audits for new and existing suppliers as needed.
- Work with suppliers to identify cost savings opportunities to reduce Total Delivered Costs
Supplier Relationship Management
- Collect, measure, monitor and report Supplier KPIs to internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Seek continuous improvement to our working relationship with suppliers collaboratively – find ways to work together and cross-functionally toward our common goals.
- Find ways to automate data collection and reporting processes for operational efficiency
- Establish strong relationships with key 3PM and component vendors to ensure capabilities, capacities, and scale support needed for business.
Project Management
- Own, track and provide comprehensive project management services for cost savings/avoidance initiatives.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Science/Business/Finance/Supply Chain or related field
- 3+ years combined experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing
- 2+ years in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
- Financial acumen, demonstrating an understanding of how business and sourcing/procurement decisions impact financials (P&L, Balance Sheet).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a vast number of internal and external
stakeholders.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt easily to rapidly changing situations and priorities. Comfortable adjusting
concepts to fit new situations.
- Comfortable delivering feedback to both supplier partners and internal partners’ while
maintaining a good relationship and leading to effective results.
- Travel – 20%
- Exceptional Excel skills paired with critical thinking skills and an organizational mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Relevant Supply Chain/Procurement certifications (Lean Six Sigma, CPSM)
- Experience in consumer goods, preferably personal care, and OTC’s
- Experience working with software systems such as Netsuite, Airtable, and ASANA preferred.

Job Requirements:
- Full Time
- Up to 20% overnight travel
- $76,00-$99,750 is the salary range for this position. It represents a portion of the overall package, and includes flexibility based on the candidate's qualifications.
