Location: Henrico, VA Employment Type: Direct Hire Salary: Starting at $60,000+ (based on experience) Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Test & Controls Technician to support system validation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in electrical systems and controls who enjoys solving technical challenges and working closely with both production and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities
Conduct electrical and functional testing on assemblies, systems, and components
Set up power, control, and communication connections for test operations
Utilize diagnostic equipment to collect, analyze, and document performance data
Troubleshoot electrical circuits, electronic components, and control systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results
Support production timelines by managing priorities and meeting deadlines
Assist with RF shielding testing, evaluation, and repair activities
Work with three-phase power systems, motors, generators, relays, and controls
Provide support with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming tasks
Diagnose and resolve issues related to VFDs and automated equipment
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical, electronic, or industrial control systems
Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and analyzers
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and documentation abilities
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Requirements
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Experience
Exposure to PLC systems and relay-based controls
Experience with motor controls and generator systems
Background in RF testing or shielding repair
Familiarity with AutoCAD
Mechatronics training or technical certification
Licensed electrician experience
