About The Role The Lead System Analyst at Tempus Unlimited plays a crucial strategic and technical role, serving as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, external vendors, and clients such as MassHealth. This position requires a deep understanding of existing system architectures, integrations, and business processes to guide system evolution effectively. The Lead System Analyst will be responsible for analyzing current systems, identifying gaps, and advising on architecture enhancements, development practices, testing procedures, and operational strategies. They will lead efforts to translate business needs into technical requirements, develop policies, and ensure successful system deployment within scope, time, and budget constraints. Acting as a primary technical liaison, the Lead System Analyst will facilitate communication across cross-functional teams, lead project initiatives, and ensure that technical solutions align with organizational goals and compliance standards. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering or analysis supporting custom-developed systems. Demonstrated expertise in system architecture, application development lifecycles, and testing methodologies is essential. Experience managing third-party vendors or system integrators, along with proficiency in writing and maintaining SOPs, SOWs, and technical documentation, is required. Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills are vital for success. Preferred qualifications include experience in regulated environments, familiarity with SDLC, Agile, or hybrid delivery models, and a background in process improvement or operational governance. Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive understanding of existing custom systems, modules, integrations, and data flows, evaluating their effectiveness and scalability.
Advise on system architecture improvements, efficiency enhancements, and future scalability to meet organizational and client needs.
Translate complex business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications, managing traceability matrices to ensure alignment.
Lead the development, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to system development, testing, release, and support processes.
Act as the primary technical point of contact with external solution providers, reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and technical designs to ensure they meet project objectives.
Track vendor deliverables, dependencies, risks, and timelines, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and aligned with project goals.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings, working sessions, and kick-off meetings to ensure clarity, alignment, and effective communication across teams.
Identify process inefficiencies and risks, recommending and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across business and technical functions.
Proactively manage workstreams, milestones, and deliverables, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership on system-related decisions.
Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring technical solutions support organizational goals and regulatory compliance.
