About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the company's financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for financial analysis, general accounting functions, and credit and collections management, contributing directly to the company's fiscal responsibility and strategic decision-making processes.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis is essential. Candidates should demonstrate high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. The ability to accurately calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are necessary, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. A customer-focused, accountable, and adaptable mindset will contribute to success in this role.
Responsibilities
Financial Analysis
  • Analyze monthly financial results compared to budget and prior periods to identify trends and variances.
  • Explain and investigate significant variances in revenue, expenses, and margins to support informed decision-making.
  • Monitor cost trends and investigate unusual fluctuations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and ongoing financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Support rolling forecast updates and participate in ad hoc financial projects as needed.

General Accounting
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting utilizing established software systems.
  • Record and analyze payroll data to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Calculate and process sales commissions based on established procedures and guidelines.
  • Cross-train within the department to provide backup support and ensure continuity of operations.

Credit & Collections
  • Review and approve customer credit decisions within established standards and policies.
  • Monitor open accounts receivable and proactively address potential collection issues.
  • Conduct professional collection calls and document all customer communications thoroughly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit and collection records.
  • Escalate accounts as appropriate and collaborate with leadership to resolve complex issues.

Our compensation range for this role is between $85,000 and $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. The position provides a stable, full-time schedule Monday through Friday, allowing for work-life balance.
