Qualifications

- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in construction accounting, with a focus on real estate or related industries.
- Proficiency in managing AIA billings, tracking contracts, and handling change orders efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues accurately and promptly.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functionalities.
- Experience with job cost accounting software, with familiarity in Yardi being highly advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, data integrity, and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Construction Accountant include:
- Managing and processing AIA billings in accordance with project milestones and contractual agreements.
- Tracking and reconciling construction contracts, change orders, and related financial transactions.
- Monitoring project budgets and ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies or issues related to project costs and billing.
- Maintaining accurate and organized financial records for all construction projects.
- Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Preparing detailed reports on project costs, budgets, and financial status for management review.
- Supporting audit processes and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
