About The Role We are seeking a high-performing Senior Accountant to drive financial accuracy, strengthen balance sheet integrity, and lead fixed asset accounting within a manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's financial statements are accurate, compliant with IFRS standards, and prepared with the highest internal control standards. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing month-end closing processes, managing fixed assets, and supporting accounts payable and receivable functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a hands-on, ownership-driven position that requires challenging inconsistencies, digging into the details, and ensuring all financial data is fully supportable and audit-ready. Qualifications The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing setting. Strong expertise in fixed asset accounting and IFRS standards is highly preferred. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of financial controls, audit readiness, and compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills, analytical capabilities, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Month-End Close & Financial Reporting:
Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Deliver timely, accurate, and fully supported financial results.
Analyze performance and provide clear, actionable variance explanations.
Identify issues early and drive resolution to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Balance Sheet Integrity
Prepare and review reconciliations such as cash, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany accounts.
Ensure all balances are fully supported, accurate, and audit-ready.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
Maintain organized, defensible documentation for all balance sheet accounts.
Fixed Assets & Capital Controls
Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including Construction in Progress (CIP).
Enforce capitalization policies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to general ledger and record depreciation accurately.
Partner with operations to validate assets and capital expenditures.
Monitor CIP aging, approvals, and documentation processes.
Identify misclassified, idle, or impaired assets and recommend corrective actions.
AP / AR Support
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Assist with invoicing, payments, and cash application processes.
Ensure continuity during peak periods or employee absences.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency.
