We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized, client-focused Employee Benefits Account Coordinator to join our team. You’ll manage a book of group and individual/family health insurance accounts, handling everything from open enrollment group and one-to-one meetings to day-to-day client service, and play a key part in helping us maintain our 95% client retention goal. WHAT YOU’LL DO Client Service & Enrollment • Manage IFP and small group accounts, handling multiple client enrollments simultaneously • Prepare and present open enrollment materials, PowerPoint decks, benefit booklets, SBCs, carrier flyers, and payroll deduction sheets • Lead open enrollment meetings and guide employees through their benefit options and online enrollment • Process new hires, terminations, COBRA notifications, and carrier changes with thorough follow-up • Respond to client inquiries quickly and document all activity in our agency management system Retention & Account Rounding • Proactively work to retain assigned accounts in line with agency goals • Represent MNJ at health fairs, networking events, and business expos as assigned • Support the team’s social media and new business development efforts Teamwork & Compliance • Maintain a courteous, professional presence with clients, carriers, and co-workers • Adhere to HIPAA standards and agency privacy policies at all times • Stay current on legislation, new carrier products, and industry developments WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Required • Active California Life & Health Insurance License in good standing • Minimum 2 years of experience in a health insurance agency • Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts in a high-volume environment • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Experience with Ease and/or Employee Navigator • Typing speed of 55+ WPM • Valid CA driver’s license and auto insurance – will need to drive to client enrollment meetings, as needed Nice to Have • Experience with Covered California / ACA Individual & Family Plans • Familiarity with carriers such as Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Calchoice, Covered CA, Health Net and UHC • Bilingual English/Spanish • Experience with agency management software (AgencyBloc) WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • Client retention at or above 95% for your assigned book of business • Open enrollment materials delivered on time and meetings completed on schedule • All client interactions documented in the agency management system • Client inquiries responded to within 1 business day BENEFITS & PERKS • Competitive hourly compensation • Employee Benefits include but are not limited to medical, dental, vision, life and voluntary benefits • Supportive, small-team environment with real growth opportunity • Pathway to Senior Account Coordinator or Account Manager role HOW TO APPLY Please send the following to [email protected]: • Your resume (PDF preferred) • 2–3 professional references • A brief note on why you’re a strong fit for this role
