Internal Auditor

This position will be based in our Administrative & Fiscal Services (AFS) division. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for high level financial management and accounting work for our agency of approximately 1,700 employees over 50 locations throughout the State of Minnesota.

- Lead the single audit and annual reporting processes on behalf of the agency.

- Coordinate the financial management reporting activities of the agency to achieve its goals and objectives.

- Function as the agency expert in the development of financial analysis so that accurate current, historical, and projection information is available to agency management.

- Design and maintain the financial operations of the agency in a manner that ensures appropriate financial budget systems, policies and procedures are in place to support successful achievement of established goals and objectives while maintaining compliance with industry guidelines (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards, etc.), legislative intent, and good business practices.

This position assists with administering extensive accounting and technically complex systems including Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT), Statewide Employee Management (SEMA4), and the fiscal Internal Audit (IA) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) warehouses This includes, but is not limited to, in collaboration with the Budget Director developing procedures and policies related to state and federal financial reporting in compliance with best practices and legal standards. This position also may assist in providing back-up services to the Financial Planning and Analysis business unit which requires extensive accounting and technical system knowledge of complex systems.
