Chief Development Officer (CDO)

Position Overview
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is responsible for driving the organization’s long-term growth and expansion strategy. This executive leads initiatives related to business development, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and new market opportunities.
The CDO works closely with the executive leadership team to identify growth opportunities, strengthen strategic relationships, and ensure the organization remains competitive in rapidly evolving markets.
Role Focus: Corporate growth, strategic partnerships, market expansion, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Growth Strategy
Develop and implement long-term corporate growth strategies.
Identify new markets, revenue streams, and expansion opportunities.
Align development initiatives with the company’s overall business objectives.
2. Business Development
Lead business development initiatives to generate new partnerships and clients.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and investors.
Negotiate and structure strategic agreements.
3. Strategic Partnerships
Identify and establish strategic alliances and joint ventures.
Manage high-level relationships with industry partners and external organizations.
Evaluate partnership opportunities that enhance the company’s competitive position.
4. Mergers & Acquisitions
Identify acquisition targets and strategic investment opportunities.
Oversee due diligence, valuation, and negotiation processes.
Coordinate post-merger integration with internal teams.
5. Market Expansion
Lead initiatives to expand the company’s presence in new geographic or industry markets.
Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and market demand.
Develop strategies for entering new sectors or regions.
6. Executive Leadership
Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on corporate strategy.
Lead and develop corporate development and business development teams.
Present strategic initiatives and growth opportunities to the board of directors.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
18+ years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or investment.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and strategic partnerships.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred
MBA or advanced degree in business or finance.
Experience in financial services, fintech, technology, or global markets.
Experience managing M&A transactions and strategic investments.
