We bring together a 180+ member community of industry, academia, national laboratories, and government agencies to grow the production capacity of composites, strengthen U.S. manufacturing competitiveness, and elevate workforce training and job creation across the U.S. composite industry. The HR Generalist provides essential support to the Human Resources function, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and a positive employee experience. This role is responsible for maintaining confidential employee records, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, assisting with HR systems and reporting, recruiting, responding to employee inquiries, and assisting with HR-related projects. The HR Generalist works closely with HR Manager to support compliance, accuracy, and consistency in HR procedures and policies. RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Manage full-cycle recruitment processes, including job postings on external platforms (e.g., State Workforce Solutions, Indeed, LinkedIn) and proactive sourcing as needed.
Review and evaluate applicant qualifications, exercise judgment in screening candidates, and recommend candidates for interview consideration.
Coordinate and participate in interview processes; serve as a key point of contact for candidates and hiring managers.
Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and ensure hiring practices align with organizational policies and applicable employment laws.
Advise hiring managers on recruitment best practices, labor market trends, and selection processes.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
Independently coordinate and administer onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring compliance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
Prepare, distribute, and track onboarding documentation; verify completeness and accuracy of required forms.
Ensure secure maintenance and confidentiality of personnel and onboarding records.
Provide guidance and support to new employees during onboarding, responding to questions and resolving issues using professional judgment.
Partner with leadership to continually improve the onboarding experience.
HR Administration & Compliance
Maintain ownership of employee personnel files (electronic and physical), ensuring document control, accuracy, and compliance with retention requirements.
Monitor and track probationary, 90-day, annual, and other performance review cycles; proactively notify leadership and provide administrative support.
Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies, forms, templates, and standard operating procedures.
Apply knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices to ensure compliance and escalate compliance risks as appropriate.
Assist with internal HR audits and process improvement initiatives.
Employee Support & Engagement
Serve as a professional point of contact for HR-related employee inquiries, using discretion and independent judgment to determine appropriate responses or escalations.
Support employee engagement, recognition, and culture initiatives.
Assist with HR programs related to benefits administration, performance management, training, and employee relations under the guidance of the HR Manager.
Promote consistency, fairness, and confidentiality in HR practices.
HR Operations & Strategic Support
Partner with the HR Manager on departmental initiatives, data reporting, research, and special projects.
Maintain accurate HRIS data and generate routine reports, identifying trends or issues as needed.
Prepare HR communications and materials that support organizational initiatives.
Handle sensitive and confidential information requiring discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
SHRM or PHR certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years of progressive Human Resources or related professional experience.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in HR-related matters.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to build professional relationships at all levels.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
Valid U.S. driver’s license for travel to the IACMI office for meetings as required.
