Trouble shoot and repair electrical systems and equipment
Ability to plan and lay out work projects from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints and/or verbal instructions
Ability to select the correct materials to complete work assignments
Proficient in establishing test procedures related to lead requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
Proficient in maintaining electrician’s tools and equipment in good working order
Must be willing to be cross trained in all trades
Ability to work in a rotating on-call schedule
Technical Requirements
Possess a valid Electrician License or in the process of obtaining licensure
Coordinate and execute repairs on all indoor and outdoor electrical systems
Perform maintenance repair and troubleshooting for electrical systems and apparatus
Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance inspections and repairs in all facilities
Coordinate and execute repair power to all Main Power Distribution Systems and Panel Boards
Coordinate and execute repair on all outdoor facility lighting including signs, parking areas and security lighting
Respond to emergency power failures and emergency back-up systems
Monitor and test various electrical systems
Coordinate and execute repairs on electrical systems for chillers, HVAC, pumps, generators, etc.
Coordinate and execute repairs online voltage of equipment including freezers, refrigerators, computer stations, cubicles, booster heaters, disposals, heat pumps and others
Coordinate and execute repair to line voltage for all HVAC systems
Understand state and local building codes, and know OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency, and other electrical regulations
Heavy lifting over 50 pounds, climbing ladders, enclosed spaces, etc.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
Monitor and record average readings at each facility main electrical switchgear
Troubleshoot blown circuit breakers and fuses
Adhere to established electrical work order preventive maintenance schedules
Replace lamps and ballast as required
Perform other facility related tasks as required
Key Competencies
Familiar with all areas of the national electrical code
Good communication skills
Capable of analyzing and solving problems with various electrical controls and systems
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regularly required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
Must have the ability frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices
Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work
