The Lead Financial Aid Advisor manages daily financial aid operations, provides expert advice to students/families on funding a college education, trains specific staff members, handles complex cases (like professional judgments/verification), ensures regulatory compliance with federal (Title IV) and state regulations, coordinates with campus partners (Admissions, Registrar, Advising, Business Office), and may oversee specific programs like Work-Study. Working within Financial Aid requires strong customer service, regulatory knowledge, and leadership. This position serves as a key point person for complex inquiries for financial aid packaging and disbursement, ensuring accuracy, and adherence to regulations and deadlines. Key duties include evaluating financial aid applications, processing documents, resolving escalated issues, all while promoting access, student success, and student retention. Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
Four years of professional work experience as a Financial Aid Advisor or related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree.
Five years of professional work experience as a Financial Aid Advisor or related experience.
