About The Role
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager at Jobot will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing facility. This leadership position involves managing daily FSQA operations, ensuring adherence to USDA, FDA, and other regulatory standards, and maintaining comprehensive food safety programs. The role requires a strategic thinker capable of leading internal and external audits, managing customer interactions, and developing a high-performing FSQA team. The FSQA Manager will be instrumental in shaping the quality function of a rapidly growing, high-demand operation, reporting directly to senior leadership and influencing plant-wide performance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in food quality assurance, preferably within poultry, meat, or protein-based manufacturing environments. A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Proven experience in USDA-regulated food manufacturing, along with strong communication skills for engaging with customers and regulatory agencies, is essential. Certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, and SQF Practitioner are highly desirable. Experience leading external audits and third-party inspections (e.g., SQF, BRC) is a plus. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in managing teams, budgets, and safety initiatives, with a strong emphasis on food safety compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with customers to address quality and safety concerns and facilitate plant tours, audits, and product demonstrations.
  • Manage daily FSQA operations within the prepared foods manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth and compliant processes.
  • Oversee food safety programs, quality systems, sanitation protocols, and ensure compliance with HACCP, HARPC, GMP, SOP, and SSOP requirements.
  • Monitor and verify adherence to USDA, FDA, and other regulatory standards, maintaining up-to-date documentation and records.
  • Ensure finished products meet quality standards, labeling accuracy, and customer specifications.
  • Lead internal, regulatory, and customer audits from preparation through completion, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Manage customer interactions, including plant tours, audits, and product demonstrations, to foster strong relationships and trust.
  • Lead, train, and develop FSQA supervisors and technicians, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
  • Manage departmental budgets, oversee safety initiatives, and monitor workforce turnover to maintain a high-performance team.
  • Act as the primary liaison to USDA representatives, ensuring transparent communication and compliance during inspections.
