About The Role The Quality Engineer (Internal) at U.S. Tsubaki Automotive plays a vital role in ensuring that the company's internal and customer quality standards are consistently met and exceeded. This position involves identifying areas for quality improvement, resolving problems efficiently, and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support quality initiatives. The Quality Engineer will provide leadership in continuous improvement activities within manufacturing departments, working closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams to foster a culture of quality and operational excellence. The role requires a proactive approach to quality management, including conducting internal audits, facilitating corrective actions, and implementing quality software solutions to streamline inspection and documentation processes. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving quality improvements that align with industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO requirements, ensuring the company's products meet the highest standards of reliability and safety. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, coupled with a minimum of five years of experience in automotive manufacturing environments. Prior experience as a Quality Engineer, particularly within the automotive industry, is highly desirable, with at least three years in a leadership capacity. Candidates should have a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, project management, and quality management systems such as ISO and IATF 16949. Proficiency in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and preventative action strategies is essential. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word, are required. The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively. Identify and analyze areas for quality improvement within manufacturing processes, recommending and implementing effective solutions aligned with quality principles and documentation standards.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across departments through training, communication, and leadership of quality projects.
Lead the implementation of inspection data recording software to eliminate paper-based records, enhancing data accuracy and accessibility.
Participate in internal and supplier quality audits to identify deficiencies, develop corrective actions, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as IATF 16949.
Monitor and report on quality metrics, ensuring timely escalation of issues to management before objectives are missed.
Lead internal meetings to coordinate corrective actions and promote quality awareness across teams.
Perform routine internal process and quality audits to verify adherence to standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support layered process audits to maintain high standards of internal quality and operational efficiency.
