Job Description
- Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status.
- Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors.
- Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services.
- May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.
- Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required]
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
Education
- Bachelor's [Required]
- Master's [Preferred]
Field Of Study
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or nutrition related field
Work Experience
- 10+ clinical experience [Required]
