Job Description:
Verifies patient identifiers and nutrition orders daily, facilitates order clarifications, and creates patient labels. Manages nutrition recipes, verifies recipes with the registered dietitian, publishes verified recipes for storage, and makes discharge recipes available. Prepares infant and pediatric formulas using verified recipes, including ready-to-feed liquid, liquid concentrate, powder, modular components, and human milk. Inventories human milk supplies and orders donor human milk from the milk bank. Collects, receives, packages, labels, and stores human milk utilizing the electronic health record, fortifies and supplements human milk with liquid and powder fortifier, modulars, and infant formula. Distributes labeled infant feedings to patient area refrigerators, removes expired human milk and formula preparations, and records temperatures for nutrition room and patient area refrigerators and heating equipment. Inventories nutrition room stock, maintains supplies of infant formula, glassware, bottles, enteral feeding bags, nipples, and other supplies, discards expired products and supplies, and follows procedures for formula recalls. Maintains a safe and clean preparation area, checks equipment for proper operation, creates work orders as needed, follows up with work order completion, cleans and sanitizes all equipment and work surfaces before and after each formula preparation, follows aseptic technique and policies regarding formula/breast milk handling, and conducts quality assurance on cleaning and sanitizing equipment and maintaining applicable logs. Remains up-to-date with neonatal and pediatric population activities, communications, and changes, demonstrates and participates in controlling cost and minimizing waste, provides training, and participates in the performance improvement process as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • Associate [Preferred]

Field Of Study:
  • N/A

Work Experience:
  • Experience using Cerner electronic health record [Preferred]

Schedule:
Additional Information:
10 hours on Saturday, 0830-1900
8 hours on Sunday and Monday, 0900-1730
Licenses And Certifications:
  • Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) [Preferred]
  • Nutrition and Dietetics Technician Registered (NDTR) [Preferred]
