ISDA Negotiator – Global Financial Institution Location: New York (Hybrid) Contract: Long-term contract Overview We are working with a leading global financial institution seeking an experienced ISDA Negotiator to support a high-volume documentation programme within their markets business. This is a long-term contract opportunity, working closely with legal, credit, risk, and front office teams to negotiate and execute derivatives documentation across a broad range of counterparties. Key Responsibilities
Negotiate ISDA Master Agreements (1992 & 2002), including Schedules and Credit Support Annexes (VM/IM)
Review and agree confirmations, amendments, and related documentation
Liaise with internal stakeholders including Legal, Credit, Risk, Trading, and Onboarding teams
Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory requirements (e.g. UMR, Dodd-Frank, EMIR where applicable)
Manage a high volume of negotiations within tight deadlines
Escalate key legal and credit issues where appropriate
Maintain accurate records of negotiation status and key terms
Required Experience
Proven experience negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs within a bank or financial institution
Strong understanding of derivatives products (Rates, FX, Credit, Equities)
Solid knowledge of collateral, margining, and netting principles
Experience working with a variety of counterparties including hedge funds, asset managers, and corporates
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Highly Desirable
Experience with Initial Margin (IM) documentation
Familiarity with cleared derivatives documentation (CDEA, FIA, etc.)
Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as UMR, Dodd-Frank, or EMIR
Experience using documentation or workflow tools (e.g. MarkitWire, DocuSign, internal tracking systems)
