The Village of Greendale is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as its next Village Clerk. This key position is responsible for the proper administration of elections, business licensing and record keeping of the Village.

The position is open through April 23rd, but an initial review of applications will begin on April 10th.

**Essential Functions Include, But Are Not Limited To**

- Administers elections, including maintenance of voter information and required reporting. The Village currently uses Badger Books for election administration.

- Maintain the Wisconsin Statewide Voter Registration System (Wisvote) to include voter records, absentee applications, election setup, and candidate information, create poll lists and other various lists and reports.

- Attends, records and transcribes all Village Board and Board Committee meeting minutes (meetings typically occur in the evening on the first and third Tuesdays of every month) and ensures retention of minutes.

- Recruits and trains election workers, tracks training and ensures chief election inspectors remain certified by state statute to run the polls.

- Administers licensing for the Village, including all business, liquor, tobacco, weights and measures, coin-operated machine and other various licenses.

- Coordinate the special event permitting process.

- Administers oath of offices.

-  Coordinates the assessment and Board of Review process, including providing information to the public and administer the Board of Review meetings.

- Maintains the Village's Municipal Code.

- Performs all duties as outlined in Wisconsin State Statute 61.25.

- Responsible for responding to inquiries by phone and in writing.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:**

- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required;

- Minimum three years of professional experience in a municipal government preferred.

- Certification from Wisconsin Municipal Clerk's Association desired.

- Training from the Wisconsin Elections Commission on election administration and WISVOTE

- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

**ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:**

- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to retain confidentiality of village employment, personnel and financial matters.

- Read, write, add and subtract.

- Proficiency in software programs used by the Village.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and their applications.

- Good interpersonal skills.

- Ability to define problems, collection of data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions

- Ability to manage time well, be highly organized, and plan work assignments effectively to maintain a smooth flow of record keeping and information processing.

- Ability to use modern office technology, including a personal computer.

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

- Capable of meeting and dealing with public in a pleasant manner.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Ability to establish successful working relationships.
