$76,000 - $114,000

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

General Summary:
The Logistics and Distribution Specialist performs multiple activities in support of Vertex’s Supply Chain with a moderate degree of supervision. Applies basic knowledge of logistics principles to execute upon production and inventory plans.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Represents Supply Chain department on assigned project sub-teams and/or task forces and, with guidance, executes supply chain production activities
- Executes routine purchase orders for suppliers and coordinates bulk shipments
- Uses existing procedures to solve logistics issues and selects modes of transport
- Participates in quality investigations
- Assists in process improvements to reduce lead-time and eliminate non-value-added activities
- Supports various cross-functional groups resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge And Skills
- Ability to follow procedures for troubleshooting supply problems and escalating issues appropriately
- Displays emerging ability to effectively meet customer expectations
- Demonstrates growing knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., GMP. GCP, Part 11)
- Uses judgment to solve basic problems
- Displays ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment
- Possesses organization skills, and written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses ability to work under moderate supervision and in a team setting
- Detail oriented
- Exposure to working within or coordinating projects/teams
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business or related discipline
- Typically requires 1 year of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
