Job Overview We are seeking a professional and experienced Pharmacy Technician who will serve the needs of the patients by processing orders and educating them on products and services between our 3 locations (2 Virginia Beach locations and 1 Suffolk location). Primarily in the Suffolk office. Duties and Responsibilities
Receive written prescriptions, electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
Process prescription claims through dispensary software
Maintain records as required by local, state, and federal government regulations
Possess an understanding and knowledge of current local, state, and federal government regulations
Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs
Collect patient copays and balance receipts at the end of the day. Turns in funds collected to finance department daily for bank deposit
Maintain acceptable levels of stock. Creates drug order as needed and submits to supervisor for approval
Maintain LHRH and BCG inventory and log
Dispenses LHRH/BCG to clinical staff. Records date, patient name, medical record number and dosage on inventory log
Provide manager with the LHRH/BCG log by the 5th business day of every month
Balances LHRH/BCG log and Athena report at month end. Tracks down, corrects discrepancies and alerts supervisor of any discrepancies not corrected
Places order for LHRH and BCG bi-monthly
Receives drug order and verifies delivery against order
Required License/Experience/Skills
Maintain Certified Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Virginia
Strong oral and written communication skills for corresponding with physicians, patients, and fellow employees
Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
Proficient in typing (65 wpm)
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in Excel
Excellent customer service skills
Preferred License/Experience/Skills
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
