Working Title Grants Specialist Department NE Ctr Research on Youth, Fam & School-4425 Description Of Work The Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families & Schools is an interdisciplinary research center in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Our mission is to make a positive difference in people’s lives through research in the social, behavioral and educational sciences. We conduct grant-funded research, provide comprehensive research support, and share research findings across audiences and platforms. As a Grants Specialist, you will:
Serve in a customer-facing, consultative role and be responsible for providing grant support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL , State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Primarily execute and review routine and complex pre- and post-award grant transactions.
Work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
Function under limited supervision and be expected utilize technology to provide professional services.

Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of related finance or grant management work experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system.
A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
Experience performing project or cost accounting.
Experience completing finance or grant tasks in a business setting.
Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
