About the role
- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- Associate’s degree in medical or health physics or related field, and/or equivalent education and experience.
- 1 – 3 years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of X-ray equipment+QA, health physics and health physics applications including the elements of a radiation safety program and ALARA principles.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state and Joint Commission regulatory requirements, including specific knowledge of CCR Title 17 requirements regarding radiation producing machines and good practices.
- Advanced skills in x-ray systems including CT, fluoroscopy and radiography and the associated radiation safety and QA processes, including utilization of appropriate scientific equipment.
- Advanced skills and knowledge of health physics instrument theory, operation and counting statistics.
- In depth knowledge of fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment and associated algorithms and software/firmware.
- Skills to use various pieces of test equipment and devise tests to measure imaging equipment functions.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact, convey and present information to diverse group of individuals.
- Problem-solving skills to independently recognize, define and solve a problem by creating and implementing viable solutions and following through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
- Advanced skills to coach, instruct, or train personnel in regards to the technical functions of utilizing imaging equipment.
- Advanced skills to independently coordinate a variety of tasks and functions, organize, prioritize and manage projects; to work under pressure and strict deadlines, realigning priorities as necessary.
- Skills to analyze options and solve problems independently while utilizing available scientific and professional resources to efficiently complete assigned projects.
- Knowledge of and experience using Word, Excel, Power Point.
