Description 10-Month- Tier 2 Media Assistant III Job Summary
Direct students and staff to, and on the use of, appropriate library resources
Assist with student supervision in the Library/Media Center
Assist with the preparation, managing of, and placing orders for the Library/Media Center budget
Process interlibrary loan requests and coordinate collection of library materials
Oversee the print and electronic periodical collection in terms of ordering, accession, problem resolution, prep and inventory
Assist with the operations of the circulation desk
Assist in creating promotional and display materials
Assist in maintaining data on various Library/Media Center functions
Assist with the ordering, processing and shelving of new books and materials; repair books when damaged.
Assist with inventories including; but not limited to, books, magazines, periodical collections and other materials
Assist other members of the Library/Media Center team
Perform other non-instructional duties in collaboration with the Librarian and Technology Department Chair.
Qualifications
Good interpersonal relations, communication, and organizational skills
An openness to learning a wide variety or online tools and resources
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
Ability to maintain accuracy in data entry
Knowledge of library management system functions
Teamwork skills along with self-direction and leadership capabilities
Demonstrate good judgment, trustworthiness, flexibility, self-motivation, confidentiality and the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions Is under the supervision of the Technology Department Chair while working under the guidance of the Librarian Terms of Employment Salary and benefits to be established by the agreement between the Board of Education and the United Support Staff Council.
