Works under the general supervision of the Pecos Proud Crew Leader, who assigns major tasks and duties. Is responsible for performing routine duties normally involving physical labor for the maintenance of City streets and rights-of-way including: street clean-up, trash collection and removal, street sweeping, cleaning sidewalks, storm drainage systems maintenance, parks and open areas, maintain planting beds, and general maintenance of facilities.

**Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

Performs, but is not limited to performing, the following tasks:

Works as part of a maintenance crew. Cleans streets, parks, and rights-of-way of general debris. Cuts grass applies pesticide and trims shrubs, trees, and other vegetation along street rights-of-way. Plants, waters, and maintains landscaped areas. Maintains entrance signs within rights-of-way.

Assists in the completion of street and sidewalk sweeping.

Cleans and maintains City-owned drainage facilities, including removal of debris from catch basins and other storm facilities.

Acts as a flagger to alert traffic and protect crew when required; sets up and picks up cones after work in the right-of-way.

Operates a variety of tools, including, but not limited to jackhammer, tamper, lawn mower, weed-eater, brooms, hand tools, gardening tools and carpentry tools.

**Minimum Qualifications**

**Education and Experience:**

Highschool Diploma or GED

Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

**Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Requirements**

Knowledge of the methods, materials, practices, procedures, and equipment used in the construction and maintenance of public works facilities.

Experience working safely and efficiently with field crew personnel or alone, as assigned tasks may warrant.

Knowledge and experience in water irrigation systems.

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Mechanical aptitude suitable to understanding operation of public works systems.

Ability to perform strenuous physical work.

Eligible to Work in the United States.

Valid Texas State driver's license with a driving record free from serious or frequent violations.

Required to obtain and maintain a Pesticide Applicator License within six (6) months of employment.

Ability to communicate respectfully and tactfully with customers (internal and external).

**GENERAL PURPOSE**

In a team environment, or while working independently, performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance and operation of parks, open spaces, grounds, turf, and related facilities.

**Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

Regular attendance with the ability to work in an occupied environment. Take task from beginning to completion in a quick and efficient timeframe while managing multiple job orders, daily. Maintain parks and open space areas by conducting weed removal and lawn mowing. Clean and maintain court trimmings. Install, repair, and maintain sprinkler systems, lines, and heads. Wash, inspect, and perform routine maintenance of drinking fountains and restrooms. Sweep, wash, paint, repair or replace outdoor tables and slabs. Perform minor maintenance of open space structures. Perform routine maintenance on lawn and power equipment. Perform necessary ground preparation to plant lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers and maintain soil condition by watering and minding pest and weed control. Collect and dispose of solid waste and litter from buildings and grounds. Open/close and lock/unlock facilities as needed. Assist in setting up and taking down equipment and preparation of facility usage for various functions and programs. Install and maintain goal posts and nets for various sport facilities. Assist in the construction of new open space facilities, including clearing, grading, drainage, and foundation work. Maintain records of completed work.

**PERIPHERAL DUTIES**

Complete all duties assigned by supervisor. Perform various custodial duties and backup duties for related positions as assigned. Assist in the maintenance of swimming pools and splashpads. Serve as a member of various employee committees, as designated. Perform other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge**

General knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance. General knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs.

**Skills**

Beginner to intermediate skills in landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cement skills.

**Abilities**

Coordination of Work - Ability to follow daily work routine individually or in a team. Keeping to established priorities for the completion of work in accordance with provided schedules. Avoid duplication of effort. Estimates expected time of completion of elements of work and communicate effectively with supervisor and team members.

**Education and Experience:**

- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License is required.

- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.

- A minimum of one (1) year of lawn, pool, welding, and general building maintenance is preferred.

Parks Maintenance Technician I

**GENERAL PURPOSE**

The Grant Administrator is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and compliance of grant programs for the Town of Pecos City. This role requires expertise in researching, applying for, managing, and reporting on federal, state, and local grants. The Grant Manager will work collaboratively with various departments, the City Manager's office, and the City Council to ensure timely and compliant execution of grant-funded projects.

**Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

- Prepare, review, and submit grant applications and proposals ensuring accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and compliance.

- Manage grant budgets, including preparing budget details, revisions, and financial reporting.

- Monitor grant compliance, including adherence to regulations such as HUD, DOJ, and FEMA requirements.

- Coordinate with the City Administration to draft and present resolutions related to grants requiring support or matching funds to the City Council.

- Prepare and submit programmatic and financial reports through grant portals as required by grantors.

- Track grant expenditures, reconcile discrepancies, and oversee grant close-outs.

- Collaborate with city departments and external agencies to support grant-funded initiatives.
