Job Summary: Responsible for physical databases on specific database technologies; designs and implements back-up, recovery, archiving and conversion strategies. Also responsible for the performance, availability, integrity, and disaster recovery of all databases and database systems. Essential Job Functions:
Develops and manages database schema and design in all production and non-production database environments
Designs and develops logical and physical layers of various databases
Provides technical assistance and mentoring for staff for developing conceptual and logical database design and the physical database
Utilizes logical model to ensure efficient and reliable database performance
Configures database security and generates reports and queries to insure data integrity and security is maintained and makes recommendations regarding improvements
Maintains data in all production and non-production databases and replication servers
Creates and manages database elements, including creation, alteration, deletion and copying of schema, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints
Defines and configures monitoring parameters of database and replication servers for resource utilization. Handles testing, reporting, backup/restore. Manages database distribution, security, and access requirements
Creates security access profiles to enable access to databases
Creates and maintains user profiles for database access, including login and password. Performs backup and recovery, configures database parameters, and prototypes designs against logical data models
Researches and analyzes new products and/or technologies and makes recommendations to enable a more effective and secure database architecture
Manages database distribution, security, and access requirements. Designs and develops logical and physical layers of various databases
Facilitates, establishes and builds strong working relationships and partnerships with Business Units and Senior Management to assess operational needs and develop appropriate operational support strategies and efficient use of resources
Perform on-call support on a rotational basis every 5 weeks in a 24/7 highly available environment as the lead database administrator for all critical applications and processes, resolving customer issues in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) preferred
Knowledge of organizational politics and political tactics; ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels
Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Strong writing and communication skills
Strong customer service orientation toward Business Units requiring financial consultation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)
Strong project management skills: Plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, to achieve project objectives and deadlines
Strong interpersonal relationship building skills: able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions

Salary range $89,000 to $125,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
