Job Overview: Platinum Rye Entertainment has an immediate opening for a Manager, Business Team in our Dallas, Texas (or Chicago, IL) office. We are seeking a conscientious and highly organized individual to support the day-to-day logistics for the business and leadership team. This unique role reports to the SVP of the Business Team, and combines a desire to develop entertainment payroll, business affairs and new business experience while demonstrating knowledge in workflow and project management. The Manager will ensure accurate, timely, and union compliant payouts while helping manage comprehensive budgets, understanding talent agreements, assisting with the development of new business pitches and presentations, assisting leadership with account management and organization and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agents, partner agencies, payroll companies and internal finance teams. Responsibilities:
Organize and prioritize payment processing tasks based on due dates and payment deadlines
Aquire, organize, and track highly sensitive performer paperwork for payment processing
Maintain data security and follow company protocols for sensitive information
Assist in obtaining union payment estimates and cost projections for talent engagements
Assist in setting up new talent, agency and talent corporations in internal systems
Stay informed on union contract requirements through training and resources
Ensure estimates and payments comply with union agreements and contract terms
Work with talent representation/management for payment tracking/remits
Track workflow performance and troubleshoot issues
Create task lists in Microsoft 365 (Teams/Outlook) or other software with clear deadlines and requirements
Ensure payments for talent are consistently on time according to contracted terms
Maintain organized documentation for compliance and audit purposes
Learn and become proficient with multiple talent payment platforms
Support revenue recognition tasks
Assist with the development of new business materials and pitch decks
Assist with organizational tasks related to Platinum Rye Entertainment clients and accounts
Bonus: Use tools or AI to automate repetitive steps, reducing manual work and errors
Qualifications:
Dallas based (or open to Chicago)
Previous entry-level project management, workflow, traffic or operations experience
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to deliver on schedule
Quick learner interested in developing expertise in talent payroll, SAG, Business Affairs and compliance
Passion for and general familiarity with entertainment, music and/or pop-culture
Customer service oriented, comfortable dealing with difficult situations
Organized thinker – natural project manager who thrives with multiple detailed, organized systems
Excellent communicator – Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Dedicated work ethic and displays a thorough attention to detail
