About the role

As a junior engineer, you'll play a vital role in supporting client projects by meticulously reviewing oil and gas pipeline and facility program and procedure documents. Success in this position means delivering accurate, well-organized analysis and identifying key insights that contribute to project goals. Personal integrity is a must! This role is essential for ensuring the quality and thoroughness of our client deliverables, providing critical foundational support to senior engineers, and ultimately contributing to client satisfaction and the firm's reputation for excellence. The Junior Engineer will be assigned a technical project and client-facing work. Additional Essential Skills For Success (“ESS”) and Technical Skills for Success (“TSS”) educational materials will be provided weekly throughout the summer months during the project work. A presentation is required at the conclusion of the summer term.

Responsibilities
This role involves conducting detailed program reviews using critical thinking, collaborating effectively with the team, and organizing and presenting findings. You'll also be expected to learn about relevant industry knowledge, participate in meetings, and show your project conclusions to the team.

Qualifications
  • Earned or are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Preferred degrees include mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, materials science, and environmental engineering
  • A strong desire for a long-term career in engineering consulting and a commitment to growing with a small business; preference will be given to candidates seeking immediate full-time employment with Time For Change at the conclusion of the summer term.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred experience in Canva, 2D or 3D drafting software, and/or Visio software, and/or machine learning (artificial intelligence, “AI”) coding platforms.

Safety
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This job involves extensive computer use. Additionally, this position must make general decisions requiring judgment and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate in an office; however, some work may be required in operating units, which mandate the use of Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”), including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel, including air travel or auto travel, may occasionally be required.
