Thunderbird Environmental, LLC is seeking a Geologist or Environmental Scientist with 1 to 3 years of experience to join our growing team of professionals in Clinton, Connecticut. The ideal applicant will be able to perform a broad range of environmental site assessment and remediation oversight tasks. Key Responsibilities
Perform soil and groundwater sampling and prepare detailed notes;
Use field instrumentation such as a PID;
Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments;
Prepare e-mail updates, draft reports, data tables, draft figures, and other deliverables;
The position may entail approximately 70% field work and 30% office work on a variety of projects; and
Maintain effective client relations through unwavering professional conduct and trusted interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications Required and Preferred
B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, or related technical field;
OSHA training (40-hour HAZWOPER) and hazardous waste handling experience;
Ability to perform field work with exposure to a variety of climatic conditions and potential exposure to hazardous materials;
Environmental project experience in site characterization and remediation;
Preliminary knowledge of environmental regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, OSHA and State regulations;
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare concise email updates and draft reports;
Ability to travel 10% - 25% overnight outside of Connecticut;
Must be able to pass a physical exam to obtain medical clearance for work on hazardous waste sites;
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy;
