Position Summary The HealthCare Connection is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometric Technician / Front Desk Associate to support both clinical and administrative operations. This hybrid role plays a key part in delivering high-quality vision care, ensuring a positive patient experience, and maintaining efficient clinic flow across multiple service locations. Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Care
Engage effectively with patients, especially children, explaining procedures and tests in a clear, reassuring manner
Demonstrate empathy and create a positive, comfortable patient experience
Support and maintain efficient daily patient flow
Clinical Knowledge
Perform pre-examination testing with accuracy and attention to detail
Clearly communicate testing procedures to ensure patient understanding
Administrative Duties
Manage and maintain organized patient records and documentation
Schedule appointments and utilize computer systems efficiently
Maintain inventory and ensure exam and pre-test rooms are properly stocked
Clinic Appearance & Equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment
Assist with transporting and setting up portable vision equipment at various locations
Clean, disinfect, and maintain all equipment and testing tools
Uphold and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of The HealthCare Connection
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Previous ophthalmic certification preferred
Experience & Skills
Experience working with children of all ages preferred
Previous customer service experience preferred
Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, patient, and compassionate)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Basic math proficiency
Ability to adapt to changing environments (portable/mobile program)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
