Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced construction and civil litigation law practice. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and legal team in handling complex litigation. Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
Filing court documents through the various state and federal portals.
Draft and proofread legal documents, including letters, pleadings, discovery requests, and other filings.
Assist in case preparation by organizing case files, managing evidence, and preparing exhibits for hearings or trials.
Assist with maintaining accurate records and managing deadlines related to court filings, hearings, and other key events.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring proper documentation and case tracking.
Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other relevant agencies, adhering to all deadlines and procedural requirements.
Manage client communications and provide updates on case progress as directed by the attorney.
Perform other tasks as needed to support the legal team and the overall workflow of the practice.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Assistant Program, or related field is preferred.
Strong interest in construction law, legal procedures, and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
Previous legal assistant or administrative experience is a plus, but not required.
