**The Department**

Alfred Health Support Services provides non-clinical support services across Alfred Health, these services include cleaning services, car parking and fleet management, waste management, gardens and grounds, distribution, security and access control, ward support, linen services, ancillary services, food services and hospitality.

**The Role**

The Ward Support Assistant will provide a customer focused service to patients and relevant stakeholders of Alfred Health and adhere to all requirements ensuring the support services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner. The Ward Support Assistant will perform all scheduled and ad-hoc support tasks within a specific ward as required.

**The Department**

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner Southeastern area of Melbourne.

**Community Residential Rehabilitation Services**

Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) and Alma Road Community Care Unit (ARCC) form the community residential services for Adult and Older Adult program. PARC provides short term support for up to 28 days in a step up and step-down model for consumers living within the AMAH catchment area. The PARC service model is a partnership between AMAH and ERMHA 365.

ARCC provides a medium-term residential rehabilitation program for up to 14 people living on site with 24-hour support with an outreach transition program for up to 6 consumers.

**The Role**

In this role, you will provide intentional peer support to consumers through the purposeful use of lived/living experience of mental health challenges and recovery. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to promote hope, connection, self-determination, advocacy, and recovery-oriented practice.The role will work across ARCC and PARC and support the development and delivery of the group program.

This position may be appointed at either Grade 2 or Grade 3 depending on your demonstrated experience, capability, and level of autonomous peer practice.

**About You**

You will draw from your own lived experience of having a significant mental health challenge and the ability to use your experience to inspire hope and belief in recovery.

**Essential**

- Identified lived/living experience of mental health challenges.

- Demonstrated understanding of consumer peer work and recovery-oriented practice.

- Australian working rights and current influenza vaccination

- Current drivers licence

- Be willing to complete a police check

**For Grade 3 Appointment**

- Demonstrated experience working in a peer work role (typically 12 months or more).

- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within peer scope of practice.

Consumer Peer Worker - Adult Mental Health Rehab and Recovery Services

**Women’s Recovery Network**

WREN is a 35 bed women’s mental health service. This is an innovative response to the Royal Commissions recommendation on private/ public partnerships and the need for gender and sexual safe units. In partnership Alfred Care Group, Ramsay Health and Goulburn Valley Health will provide a state-wide, specialist comprehensive trauma informed, wellness focused service for women, or those who identify as women, who present with mental health conditions. This service will assess, treat and support women over 18 years of age presenting with complex mental health conditions in a relational context, including presentation during the perinatal period and for women presenting with eating disorders.

This service will include a combination of inpatient and bed substitution beds. This includes 5 perinatal beds, 5 eating disorder beds, 14 General Women’s Mental Health beds within the Albert Road Clinic (ARC) Hub and up to 2 beds in Shepparton Private Hospital in the Shepparton Spoke.

**The Role**

This is a permanent, part-time position, with an expectation of some coverage of extended hours and weekend work, and is based at the Ramsay Clinic Albert Rd (RCAR).

As an integral and highly valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Consumer Peer Worker will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to service users, to support them through their own unique recovery process. Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, they will promote choice, self-determination, hope and opportunities to seek or maintain socially valued roles and connections in their local communities.

This role will work primarily from the Lilac Pod but will work across the whole unit including the Hospital in the Home Team.

In this role, you can offer a unique perspective on recovery that requires a different approach than mainstream clinical mental health service delivery.

**Lived Experience Workforce**

AMAH’s Lived Experience Workforce is a growing and valued team of peer and carer professionals in designated roles such as Directors, Coordinators, Consultants, Educators, and Support Workers. They contribute across all service areas, including youth, adult, older adult, emergency, and statewide specialist services like Women’s Mental Health and Residential Eating Disorders.
