Position Summary
TEC is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Geologist with 2–5 years of experience to support environmental, due diligence and site investigation projects throughout Michigan. This is a hands-on, field/office hybrid position suited for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on active job sites and detailed research and reporting.

Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Perform site investigations (soil, groundwater, soil gas, indoor air)
  • Complete site visits and reporting for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Complete site investigations and reporting for Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Complete Due Care Plans/Evaluations and Documentation of Due Care Compliance
  • Complete Baseline Environmental Assessments
  • Complete daily field documentation, logs, and sample tracking
  • Assist with report preparation and data entry
  • Calibrate and maintain field equipment
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients in the field
  • Follow all TEC safety procedures and applicable OSHA/MIOSHA regulations
  • Travel to job sites across Michigan (some early mornings and variable hours expected)

Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of relevant field experience in environmental consulting
  • Environmental Professional
  • Knowledge of environmental/state regulations and field sampling methods
  • Knowledge of Due Diligence reporting requirements / compliance documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate field documentation
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Preferred (Not Required)
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER (current)
  • Additional certifications/experience (Asbestos, Lead, Mold, Radon, etc.)
  • Compliance experience, Storm water / Industrial / SPCC / Permitting
  • Brownfield Redevelopment

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform field work in active construction and industrial environments
  • Ability to wear respirators and PPE as required
  • Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
