What To Expect The Equipment Engineer will gain broad-based industrial maintenance experience, encompassing Mechanical, Laser Welding, Ultrasonic Welding, Machining, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Dispensing systems, Adhesive systems, Conveyor systems, Electrical/PLC, Vision Systems, Robotics etc. Must be willing to tackle whatever technical challenge presents itself and be willing to assist and learn from others in their areas of expertise. What You'll Do
Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
Diagnoses equipment failures, finds root cause and communicates and implements actions taken to the rest of the team
Evaluate these failures and provide technical solutions to improve quality and / or OEE in the specified area and perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends, holidays or night shift required)
Takes initiative to create, implement and improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor
Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development, cost reduction and improvement working with Spares Coordinator and Maintenance Engineering to RMA faulty components and communicate needs to the vendor
Work with Maintenance, Controls and Process engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures and minimize equipment downtime
Investigate and implement countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns, updating MFMEA according to new failure modes
Active leader of a TPM team while taking on improvement projects to assist in improving the factory
Develop Predictive Maintenance Strategies, to monitor equipment signals and detect anomalies before they affect or cause unplanned downtime
Design and Implement Equipment Reliability Improvement Projects, Capacity increase projects and Headcount reduction projects
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Troubleshooting and problem-solving methodologies with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding
Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint etc.)
Skilled with common engineering software (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Robo-guide, E-Plan, 3DPrinting software, etc.)
Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Willing to perform shift work (nights) and extra hours as required
