What To Expect The Field Reliability Engineering team is on a mission to enhance customer experience by identifying and resolving vehicle field issues. In this role, you will contribute to the team not only as a Data Engineer, but also as a Data Analyst, to empower our Reliability Engineers with actionable data insights for the purposes of prioritization and root cause analysis. To that end, you will ensure that our data pipeline, dashboards, and reporting are maintained and developed to the utmost standards of robustness, flexibility, scalability, and efficiency. What You'll Do
Collect and interpret complex business logic and implement in the simplest, most elegant way possible, but at the same time keeping pace with project timelines
Extract and communicate actionable insights from data and identify field failure trends to support Reliability Engineers in driving product improvements
Perform Fleet Reliability analyses
Maintain, optimize, and develop ETL pipelines (in SQL and Python) and dashboards
Create visualizations using various tools such as Tableau, in-house dashboard platform, Matplotlib, etc.
Implement new processes leveraging Splunk, Spark, Kubernetes, AWS
Continually expand the envelope of your data engineering and analysis skill set
Contribute to ongoing efforts for continuous improvement at Tesla, actively driving activities towards enhancing vehicle reliability, contributing to the continual optimization of Tesla's products and processes
What You'll Bring
Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
Broad technical background, with previous experience in problem solving
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
Demonstrated success in applying statistical methods in data analysis, especially if related to reliability
Evidence of having mastered a skill, or implemented it to great effect, in a short amount of time
Proficiency in programming language(s) and mastery in software tool(s)
Proficiency in data visualization
Strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders and interpersonal & communication skills are an absolute requirement

Expected Compensation $100,000 - $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
