Having worked in 31 countries, Terra Global has designed and supported the implementation of REDD+ and other sustainable landscape programs from the project to national scale.Position ResponsibilitiesThe NBS Portfolio Manager will analyze bankability of NbS Projects and Programs in developing countries, build Investment Readiness, oversee the management and performance of a portfolio of NbS Projects, and support capital raising for the TB-NbS Fund.Develop Bankability of NbS ProjectsEvaluate projects that have been screened by the sourcing team and develop carbon eligibility assessments including:
Evaluate and document local laws and land tenure
Collect, analyze, and validate data required and build detailed project budgets aligned with long-term workplans
Prepare investment models and analyze financial returns
Develop institutional arrangements for investments
Evaluate risks of VERRs reversals
Work with target investees to provide climate finance training and get their inputs into the process
Act as project manager, working with technical team project manager, to deliver Carbon Eligibility Assessments
Investment Readiness and Due Diligence
Support process with investees to build Investment Readiness including but not limited to:Investees policies and proceduresBenefits allocationCommunity engagementFeedback, Grievance ad RedressFiscal management policies and proceduresProgram operational policies
Conduct and manage investment due diligence
Prepare investment memos for the Investment Committee and present projects to investment committee
Liaise with target investees keeping them committed to our investment process and manage the transaction to close
Source non-investment funds on behalf of target investee to increase bankability
Preparation of business terms and annexes for transaction documents
Post-Investment (Active Investments)
Oversee the investees’ operational and financial performance in a hands-on manner
Provide business training and monitoring support to building capacity of investee groups
Directly observe and oversee the delivery of business plans by investee project and companies
Manage local implementing partners/project coordinators and technical consultants hired to support investee
Coordinate with Terra’s Investee Fiscal manager to manage funds distributions, management of project SPV and financial reporting
Ensure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual project activity monitoring, financial and ESG reports
Oversee and contribute to the development of verified emission reductions under market standards
Prepare quarterly performance reports for Fund.
Capital Raising
Support lead generation for new investors in TB-NBS Fund
Prepare follow-ups and due diligence (DD) materials for investors
Follow-up and secure new investors
Essential Skills and QualificationsThis remote position is for either an Principal or Director depending on experience. Principals require 7-12 years of directly applicable NbS Climate Finance experience and Directors more than 12 years. Require Skills and Experience
Experience in the design, development and implementation of nature-based projects and programs in developing countries
Excellent excel modeling skills
Fluent Spanish or French speaker
Experience in building NbS project implementation budgets
Proficient in assessing the financial viability and business models of NbS projects
Demonstrated experience in managing investments and/or credit lines for NbS, agriculture and/or forestry projects
Knowledge of NbS emission reduction market standards and processes for generating verified emission reductions
Demonstrated experience in managing projects with a diverse set of partners to deliver on finance, social and environmental returns
Demonstrated experience in the performance monitoring for projects and proposal development for complementary funding sources

Strong oral and written communication skills in English, required second language Spanish or French
A self-starter with proven ability to work independently but also in a multi-disciplinary remote team setting
Compensation for US or EU based staff will range from USD$75,000 to USD$150,000 depending on experience and the cost of living of your home office location.
