Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support a growing manufacturing operation. This role will take ownership of plant-level quality processes and work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to ensure high standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections; ensure compliance with quality standards
- Lead supplier quality activities, including issue resolution and corrective actions
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality issues; manage RMAs and non-conformances
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, CAPA)
- Support manufacturing quality across molding and assembly processes
- Conduct inspections and collaborate with production/engineering to reduce defects
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support IATF/ISO audits
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional problem-solving
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality (automotive preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and/or ISO quality systems
- Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, 8D problem solving, and corrective actions
- Experience with incoming inspection, process quality, and customer issue resolution
- Comfortable working directly on the shop floor
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred
- Experience with injection molding or electromechanical manufacturing
- Background in supplier and customer quality processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic quality documentation
