Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU), and high-performance computing logic, addressing growing demand across automotive, computing, data storage, wireless communications, and AI.
Responsibilities:
Design Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end DFM/DFX reviews for all NPI programs.
  • Evaluate ECAD (Altium, Cadence) and MCAD designs to eliminate manufacturability risks early.

SMT Process Optimization
  • Define manufacturing best practices for NPI, HDI, PTH, and selective soldering.
  • Drive stencil design standards including nano-coated stencils.
  • Ensure compatibility with advanced SMT technologies (vacuum reflow, vapor phase, ultra-fine pitch).

Advanced Interconnects
  • Guide high-density designs (01005 passives, micro BGAs, ultra-fine pitch components).
  • Manage designs with near-zero tolerance margins.

Quality Engineering Integration
  • Link failure analysis with DFM rules, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
  • Ensure alignment between design intent and manufacturing capability.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Translate root cause analysis into clear customer insights.
  • Explain engineering trade-offs and reliability drivers.

Essential Attributes:
  • Deep expertise in solder chemistry, IMC formation, reflow physics, and thermal design.
  • Strong ability to influence global stakeholders.
  • Continuous learning mindset (AI inspection, digital twins, smart factories).
  • Acts as a technical mentor and educator.
  • Drives continuous improvement beyond good enough.
  • Contributes to innovation, patents, or manufacturing IP.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (required).
