Job Summary: The Director of Sales will manage the sales for the Atlantis Rail Division and create a competitive advantage for the company in the markets and industries serviced. The Director of Sales responsibilities include generating sales plans, channel development, developing pricing strategies, general oversight of sales and customer service personnel, key account management, and the development of independent outside representatives. A successful Director of Sales will have strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, and possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of sales, particularly in the building products and construction sector. Job Responsibilities:
Promote the company’s existing brands and introduce new products to the market
Prepare and analyze business development plans, annual budget plans, and schedule expenditures
Forecast and develop annual sales quotas for territories and ensure the sales team meets their quotas and goals
Research and develop marketing opportunities and plans, understanding consumer requirements, identify market trends, and suggest system improvement to achieve the company’s short-term and long-term goals
Gather, investigate, and summarize market data and trends to draft reports
Track competitive products, identify vulnerabilities, and plan to minimize impact to sales
Capitalize on market opportunities to improve product marketability and coordinate on new product development
Recruit, train, and manage sales team as well as estimating staff
Monitor efforts of the outside sales representatives to ensure sales objectives are being met
Establish, develop, and maintain positive business relationships with customers and dealers
Develop programs for channels and specific dealers, conduct reviews and initiate corrective actions
Participate in the pricing strategy and implementation
Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
Track and manage all commercial projects and conduct onsite inspections as needed
Assess warranty claims and consult with Engineering Manager on disposition
Stay current in the industry by attending conferences and workshops, trade shows, reading publications, and maintaining professional networks
Maximize usage of sales and marketing tools and resources such as CRM / ERP
Qualifications & Skills:
A bachelor’s degree in business management, or related field required (MBA preferred)
Minimum 15 years’ progressive success and experience in sales
Minimum 10 years’ experience in management and leadership roles
Experience in the building products and construction industry preferred
Advanced understanding and knowledge of sales and marketing
Proven history of successful business planning, sales strategy, and execution to achieve objectives
Previous employment experience with ISO Quality System.
Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Knowledge of data analysis and report writing
Proficient in general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products
Integrate marketing efforts to support sales goals
