Job Description Job Description: The Power BI Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of data analytics and business intelligence solutions using Power BI. This role requires strong technical expertise in data modeling, visualization, and governance, as well as leadership capabilities to manage BI projects and mentor junior developers. The Power BI Lead collaborates with stakeholders to translate business needs into insightful, data-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities
BI Strategy & Leadership:
Define and implement Power BI governance, standards, and best practices.
Lead BI initiatives and mentor Power BI developers across teams.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data strategies and roadmaps.
Solution Development:
Build complex, interactive dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs and business metrics.
Develop data models and DAX calculations to optimize performance and usability.
Integrate multiple data sources (SQL Server, Excel, APIs, etc.) into robust reporting layers.
Data Management & Governance:
Ensure data quality, security, and consistency across reports and data sources.
Implement row-level security (RLS) and role-based access controls.
Support data warehouse and ETL processes in collaboration with data engineering teams.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with business units to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Conduct workshops and training for users on Power BI tools and capabilities.
Present insights and dashboard prototypes to executives and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in BI/reporting with at least 3 years in Power BI.
Strong experience in data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M language).
Deep knowledge of relational databases and SQL (T-SQL preferred).
Experience leading BI teams or cross-functional analytics projects.
Preferred certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or related certs
