The Production Vehicle Evaluation (PVE) test program validates that On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems are functioning properly on production-level vehicles. The OBD PVE Test Engineer is responsible for the acquisition, preparation and testing of production vehicles. Testing includes the demonstration of diagnostic functionality by invoking faults, collecting data and verifying appropriate detection. This role works closely with OBD calibration and certification teams to resolve open questions or concerns. In addition to the responsibilities for the PVE program, the selected candidate will serve in a supporting role for other tailpipe, EVAP or OBD test programs. This is an onsite position at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI. Occasional off shift/weekend test support may be required. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive testing (with an emphasis on emissions, fuel economy or OBD)
Demonstrated organizational/tracking skills. This position requires tracking multiple vehicles through a complex testing process.
Must have strong computer skills with a focus on data analysis (MS Excel and data processing/analysis tools)
Knowledge of North American emissions regulations, testing and certification processes/procedures
Ability to work onsite with non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit personnel in labs and garages
Strong interpersonal skills required for interacting with powertrain and vehicle development teams
Preferred Qualifications
Hybrid and/or Electric vehicle testing experience is a plus
Propulsion system calibration or aftertreatment system experience is desired
Experience with vehicle diagnostics and Controller Area Network (CAN) data collection
