Position Overview
The Grants Specialist position is responsible for professional community and economic development grant writing, grant management, developing a professional rapport with elected officials, federal/state officials, engineers, city/county staffs, and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Researching and successfully authoring state and federally funded projects. Assists in administering projects, as needed.
• Coordinates with CED Project Administration Director and departmental Director to ensure that SETD enters into Project Administration Agreements with grantees who wish to have SETD administer their project. Uses 2023 SETD Grant Administration Fee Schedule as reference.
• Serves as staff liaison to state and federal programs to ensure that all programmatic and financial objectives are met during grant writing and grant administration process.
• Participates in the research of funding source requirements and works with local governments to develop proposals for grants; participates in developing requests for grant funding.
• Conducts on-site audits, analyses of grant projects and otherwise monitors projects to determine compliance to pertinent federal, state, and other regulations and provisions of contracts; makes recommendations on improvements which recipients should make to more properly execute provisions of grant contracts; assists in the revision of grant contracts as indicated.
• All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree OR
Qualifying full-time professional analytic experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.
