Role GCP Data Solutions Architect
Location Remote
Notes: The Data Solutions Architect's critical work will include rearchitecting their extracts service and developing a more reusable extracts framework, along with other Data Architecture activities.
Role Overview
The Data Solution Architect (DSA) is responsible for reviewing/assessing existing data architecture and platform components. Also responsible for designing, implementing and managing the data solutions. The DSA will work in a collaborative team environment to assess requirements, define data/technical strategy and deliver solutions. The DSA must also have a vision for proper data architecture, system design and will help drive strategies around implementing and improving data solutions.
In addition, the DSA should have strong ability to explore new tools and pilot POC/POV and new solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review/Assess existing data architecture and platform components, and define potential future data architecture roadmap/direction aligning to business objectives, data integrity, availability and security
  • Evaluate current tools, services, and technologies in use across the data stack and propose go forward aligning to future, needs and cost optimization
  • Design and establish data management frameworks, including data ingestion, storage, processing and retrieval process that support operational and analytical needs
  • Design and establish data integration patterns including third party SaaS integration covering batch, near real time and realtime needs
  • Evaluate and select appropriate (and emerging) technologies/tools that meets the business needs
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including external teams, product managers, developers and and enable collaborative data culture
  • Discover, analyze and scope data requirements & create high level process models to represent processes for the area under analysis
  • Proactively research and share emerging technologies and right solution fitment
  • Arrive at solutions including data flow diagrams, process diagrams, use case models, etc
  • Guide & mentor junior Architects and Data Engineers
  • Hands on Data Modeling for Operational Data Store and Data Warehouse applications
  • HL7 to Target Data Model and Target Data Model to FHIR Mapping
  • Extensive Extracts strategy and reusable framework design

Qualification & Skills Required
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data strategy, architecture, data integration with at least 5 years in Architect role
  • Healthcare domain experience
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data architectures
  • Strong experience in modern data architecture patterns
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud data solutions. Particularly with GCP services like BigQuery, DataForm, Dataproc, DataFlow, CloudSQL, Spanner, etc
  • Implementation experience of cloud architecture patterns
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT Tools, Services and frameworks for handling large scale data processing
  • Exposure various data integration patterns supporting batch, near realtime, real time with hands on implementation experience including Tools, API, pub/sub, etc
  • Hands on reusable extracts framework and components design
  • Hands on third party integration experience with Salesforce, etc
  • Experience with Microservices architecture preferred
  • Proficiency in programming languages and scripting for automation
  • Strong Data Modeling experience
  • Proficiency with a range of database systems and hands on experience in data warehousing technologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education
  • Bachelors or Masters in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field.
