About the role
The Role:The Senior Manager, Event Programming is an individual contributor who owns the end-to-end development and execution of high-quality event session tracks across events, summits, and educational forum programs. This role is responsible for researching market-relevant topics, sourcing and securing credible speakers, building compelling session schedules, writing compelling session abstracts, working with event marketing on content positioning and ensuring exceptional speaker experience onsite.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how to turn market trends in SAP ERP into audience needs building must-attend sessions, not just fill time slots.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Session Programming: lead strategic programs embedded into larger events to enhance delivery of persona-based content to a strategic audience
- Writing & Editing: Draft and edit session descriptions, speaker communications, and internal documents with a strong focus on clarity, accuracy, and tone.
- Speaker & Topic Research: Identify relevant topics and potential speakers through industry research and conduct outreach and follow-up communication with all speakers.
- Content Management: Format, proofread, and organize session abstracts, speaker bios, and presentation decks for use across the website, app, and marketing channels.
- Platform Support: Upload and manage content in the various event platforms including mobile app; ensure consistency and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Project Coordination: Maintain content timelines using tools like Smartsheet, flag issues or risks, and help drive timely completion of content-related deliverables.
- Scheduling Support: Assist in booking meetings with internal and external stakeholders (including speakers and partners), coordinating availability and logistics across time zones.
- On-Site Event Support: Assist as needed during in-person events with session setup, speaker check-ins, and real-time troubleshooting to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in event programming and event content development is required.
- Strong understanding of SAP ERP and enterprise technology content.
- Proven experience with owning session tracks and full event agendas.
- Thrives in a deadline driven environment and is highly organized.
- Comfortable balancing content integrity with commercial reality.
- Strong writing and editorial skills: grammar, structure, and clarity are a must.
- Creativity to identify optimization opportunities in our processes, speaker identification or experiential moments.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong editorial judgement and understanding.
- Comfortable interacting with external partners and senior stakeholders in a polished, professional manner.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Microsoft, Salesforce, is critical
- Able to travel globally to our events.
