About the Role We are seeking a Buyer to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations by ensuring timely procurement and replenishment of materials. This role is critical to maintaining production flow through disciplined purchasing execution, strong supplier coordination, and accurate inventory management. The Buyer works closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to proactively manage material availability and mitigate supply risk. What You’ll Do
Plan, schedule, and manage purchase orders to meet production requirements while balancing short‑term execution and long‑term material planning
Use ERP and planning tools to maintain accurate purchasing signals, inventory levels, and order timing
Issue clear and detailed purchase orders, including specifications, quantities, and delivery expectations
Actively manage supplier performance to ensure on‑time delivery, including expediting, de‑expediting, and quantity adjustments
Maintain accurate pricing and purchasing data in ERP systems prior to order placement
Monitor supplier lead times and communicate impacts to Production, Planning, and Customer Service teams
Review shortage, exception, and expedite reports to proactively prevent production disruptions
Coordinate supplier returns, rework, and corrective actions to support quality and production needs
Execute day‑to‑day tactical purchasing activities for internal manufacturing operations
Participate in daily production stand‑up meetings to provide updates on material availability, risks, and mitigation plans
What We’re Looking For
Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (raw materials experience preferred)
Strong understanding of MRP principles , including BOMs and material planning processes
Hands‑on, self‑directed professional with strong problem‑solving skills
High attention to detail and data accuracy with solid analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Experience working with ERP systems (PLEX experience is a plus)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
