About the role

The Company
We are a well-funded infrastructure company developing a commercial cable-supported structural system for the US market. The core idea: replace conventional steel beams and columns with tensioned cables and prestressed strand, dramatically reducing the amount of steel required. The concept adapts proven international deployments to domestic building codes and construction practices. We are backed by institutional capital and positioned to scale nationally.
The Role
Short version: if you have designed or built a cable-stayed bridge, we want to talk to you.
We need an independent structural engineering expert to validate our design and verify our cost assumptions, and then help us take this from concept to construction-ready.
You will review and refine our design assumptions, validate our structural cost estimates against your own project experience, and assess our IBC/ASCE 7 code compliance strategy. The engagement starts with a feasibility opinion, clear go or no-go, and progresses to a 30% design package with procurement specifications ready for construction planning. You will work directly with company leadership and report to the CEO.
You Are A:
  • licensed structural engineer (PE or SE in any US state) with 10+ years of experience and direct, hands-on work designing or building cable-supported, tensile, or suspended structures.
  • cable structures engineer who has worked on cable-stayed bridges, suspended pedestrian structures, tensile roofs, cable net facades, or similar systems where tensioned elements do the structural work.
  • specialist in prestressed steel strand and cable anchorage systems, with working knowledge of IBC/ASCE 7 provisions for non-prescriptive structural systems.
  • credible cost estimator for cable and tensile construction, grounded in projects you have personally delivered.
  • clear communicator who can deliver a written feasibility opinion that a non-engineer can act on.

You Get Bonus Points For:
  • experience with ICC-ES evaluation reports or alternative code compliance pathways for non-standard structural systems.
  • a background in bridge engineering or post-tensioned concrete that gives you intuition for how prestressed systems behave under sustained load.
  • having estimated and built cable or tensile projects where you owned the numbers from design through installation and can benchmark our assumptions.

Note: Engineering firms with cable and tensile structure expertise are encouraged to inquire. We are open to engaging an individual consultant or a firm with the right team.
This is not a third-party recruiting engagement. Our in-house team is conducting this search confidentially, and you would contract directly with the company. We are happy to share full details about the project and the company in an initial conversation.
